Thanks so much for this wonderful interview! I love the idea of “creativity in the cracks”! In listening, I also had an “aha moment” in realizing that there is creativity in everything, including political action and organizing. 😊
Fascinating! Power dynamics in art: who knew, but of course, it’s so obvious we needed feminism to liberate arts like sewing and cooking as true arts. At our county fair I’ve always loved the quilts for their beauty more than the art display. And god as enslaver forcing us to make art only to glorify “him”--wow, so true. Religion even turns art into trauma! Yet god appears to have “created” finches and flowers simply for the beauty and pleasure of doing so--and why shouldn’t we do things for the pleasure? And ordinary tasks and caregiving and spirituality as creative acts, yes!! I have always felt a kind of creative freedom in spiritual growth and exploration. Life as creative act and enough no matter what we do!! So many wide-ranging and uplifting ideas!! Thank you Christine and Heather!!
