As someone who grew up in West Liberty, then lived in Bellefontaine for a couple years as an adult, THIS IS AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL TO ME. Yaaaaaaay, Tyler!!

What a beautiful piece. I stiffened up knowing what was coming on Sunday at Tyler’s church, and felt with him about after that he “really, really didn’t like religion.” But the community he has created is, to me, what churches could be (but mostly aren’t.) So happy that he is who he is and is providing literally life-saving places for others. And in rural Ohio, no less! It’s true what they say, we are everywhere! ❤️🌈

"We are everywhere!" Yes! 🙌 It's so nice seeing (what feels like) people coming out of the woodwork once space is created for them to feel welcome and wanted :) I'm glad you liked this! Another local interview coming later this month, one that I hope you really enjoy too!

What a lovely interview!! Your town has diversity! I bet if you talk more to folks at the Olive Tree you might even find some spiritual diversity as well, just not as visible as regular churches. Congrats to Tyler on coming out personally and with his business! Incredibly courageous in such a conservative (and sometimes scary!) church and small town environment!

That was such a great line -- "Is the Olive Tree about to come out as gay??" It's been really lovely to watch the evolution.
