Sarah’s story is very moving. Isn’t it what we all want, to live a peaceful happy life wherever and however we choose? I hope you have mostly found that, Sarah, in spite of the unkind people who pop up here and there.

This quote really spoke to me regarding religious trauma: “That emptiness that you feel in your heart? You're told it's because you need God, when in reality, it was the acceptance of myself.” That feels really universal--finding peace with ourselves just as we are. The discussion of energy work as a form of prayer also resonates.

Thanks for a great interview! Beautiful family portrait too!

Yes, I was absolutely struck by those themes too! The "emptiness" thing we're always told about; the "God-shaped hole"... And then the energy / prayer thing as a universal, not just a Christian, mode of healing too! Especially after listening to Same Soul, Many Bodies :)

Thank you, Christine, for this wonderful interview! Thank you, Sarah for the work you and your Extending the Branch team are doing here in Logan County! I’m so glad you came back to rural Ohio with a mission!

I grew up in West Liberty (moved there in 6th grade), then lived in Bellefontaine for a couple years as an adult. THIS IS SO EXCITING. Listening to the interview now!!

If you make that day trip, let me know! It's a pretty cute place around here and the inclusivity spotted in different corners of town feels great :)
